Week 60 Results
(56th week of IAW auctions)
While this is actually the 56th week of auctions, I am going to use the numbering system Burt came up with for his Star Trek Auctions Archive to keep consistent.
This was an interesting week. Some items went a bit high, but only 7 items sold over $ 1,000 and only one of them was a prop. So there were some good deals to be had.
The Star Trek: Enterprise T'Pol costume at $ 3,105 was a fair price for a nice T'Pol costume. Since Maharanidiva eliminated herself from this auctions, all things T'Pol and Vulcan have come down in price to reasonable levels. I like this costume and it was a good price for this one.
The Star Trek: TNG Lore Costume at $ 2,025 was interesting in that one like this just sold from Screen Used Props for just a little less. Very cool and quite memorable. A decent price I think.
The Star Trek: DS9 Dr. Bashir First Contact Style Uniform at $ 1,875 was a tad high, but not crazy. These are great costume and look awesome when you display them well.
I was surprised how high the Star Trek: Insurrection Picard Ba'ku civilian costume at $ 1,825 went for. Not a particularly interesting costume, it was about $ 500 more than I would have expected.
The Star Trek TNG Command Red Starfleet Uniform at $ 1,754 was a bit high, and of course that was due to a new bidder. A background costume like this should go around $ 1,200, and only then because they are a bit rarer than the later, collared versions.
The Hoshi Sato Starfleet Uniform at $ 1,730 was a fair price and about where these usually go. I think if you can afford a character costume, you get one. The difference between a character and a background costume seems to be about $ 500.
The Borg Drone Costume at $ 1,634 was a fair price, but as always, these costume worry me as they will deteriorate because of the way they were made. This is a nice one, that comes with boots, and went to a new bidder, who obviously doesn't read this blog!!
The distressed Commander Chakotay Starfleet Uniform at $ 900 was about right. This one looks pretty good and the buyer will get one that displays well I think. Some people like distressed costumes because you can actually screen match them and know they are screen-used.
The Feature Style Starfleet Special Services Jumpsuit was interesting as we rarely see this branch of service on these jumpsuits. At $ 723, a fair price as it came with boots as well (well...Puma sneakers!).
At $ 676, the Voyager Command Red Uniform went at a great price. There are a lot of bargains these days in the $ 600 range for background costumes, and I suggest you all take a look at adding one to your collections!
The Nemesis Data Stunt costume was a bit of a mystery as the undershirt is gold, but the sleeves have red bands. Not sure why this is, as both tags read them to be Data's stunt person. Still at $ 630, a great price.
The Harry Kim Stunt Costume was also a great deal at $ 611. I can't believe the prices these are going for!
As far as props go:
Star Trek: Enterprise NX-01 Button Panel Lot at $ 2,451 went high because of a new bidder as well. This was WAY too high a price for a bunch of panels, and so breaks the recent spel of me not giving out a worst buy of the week award. This should have gone at half this price. There weren't even an interesting selection.
At $ 760, the Vulcan Console from Carbon Creek was a nice piece at a great price.
The Borg Drone Remains at $ 749 were pretty cool and this gets my Prop of the Week.
The Matching Building Models are rather un-interesting but at $ 660 a decent price.
The House of Duras Knife at $ 610 was a bout right, though the buyer needs to screen match this. I won one of these and turned it down when the description didn't match the screen caps.
Overall, a weak selection of props this week!
THIS WEEK'S AWARDS:
Best Costume of the Week: The Star Trek: Enterprise T'Pol costume at $ 3,105 was a beauty.
Best Prop of the Week: The Borg Drone Remains at $ 749 were very cool!
Best Buy of the week: The Harry Kim Stunt Costume at $ 611 was a steal!
Worst Buy of the week: The Star Trek: Enterprise NX-01 Button Panel Lot at $ 2,451 was WAY too high. New bidders need to learn the ropes and use Burt's Archive!
Sleeper of the Week: The Voyager Command Red Uniform at $ 676 was g reat deal! If you can get any background Starfleet Uniform costume under $ 700, you are doing well
