70th week of IAW auctions (auctions ending May 31st)
While this is the 70th week of auctions, It is titled Week 76 to be consistent with the Star Trek Auctions Archive.
I am still looking for other collectors to write blog articles!
The 24th Century Female Klingon Costume went for a very strong $ 4,055. My friend Donna won the top two costumes this week (something about winning the lottery I think). This was pretty high for a Klingon costume, but is the last female version according to IAW. All Donna needs is boots now!
The T'Pau Minister's Robes that went for $ 2,600. I backed off of these for Donna and I think she did well, at this price. I know she would have gone higher and I don't blame her. These are certainly the nicest Vulcan robes we have seen, and T'Pau is an important character in the Star Trek universe. I am jealous!
The DS9 Gowron Klingon Baldric at $ 2,114 was a big surprise. A lot of people were talking about this before the the auctions ended. These have been used ever since TMP. Still, this is a lot for a costume element, but certainly an important one.
The Enterprise Trip Ticker Starfleet Uniform went for a reasonable $ 1,944. For such a loved character, I think this was a good deal. It had the rank pins as well. I would pay this price any day for a Tripp.
Romulan Senator's Robes continue to sell strong. This set went for $ 1,237. I hate this color, but they are awesome none the less. This week there are 4 sets, so we should see the price come down.
The Vorta Costume had an incorrect "Iggy Pop" costume Tag attached. This was NOT the costume Iggy Pop wore in "the Maginficent Ferengi". It was worn by the Founder who sat at the treaty signing table in the last episode of DS9. At $ 1,225, still a fair price.
The Enterprise Female Commodore Costume went for a very reasonable $ 1,030. WOW! What a good deal for a Flag Officer costume. Plus it has a Universal Translator.
As far as props go:
The Enterprise E Desk Chair went for a very high $ 2,550 to a zero feedback bidder. Can't tell if he is real or not, but the guy is a NASCAR fan! I love this chair, but I am not spending over $ 1,000 on one! Way too high in my book.
The Voyager Temporal Disruptor from "Relativity" was a surprise at $ 1,925. A lot of us were interested in this one. It was from a great episode and was very distinct. A cool prop that lights up is always in demand!
The Starfleet Command Building Model was something different and went for a healthy $ 1,875. We all like models I think, however, as Jorg points out "Buildings of a similar, yet different design, were seen on Earth in "Paradise lost" and on Risa in "Let he who is without sin...". This building matches a building seen on the Mari homeworld in "Random thoughts" most closely however."
The Space Ship Model went for $ 1,362. Where has this been seen? No one on the Forum seemed to know. So I think this was way too high for a random, possibly never used, model.
The Raven Borg Data Module at $ 1,125 seemed high for such a prop. It wasn't very big, nor was it very interesting. But someone liked it!
I liked the Phase II or TMP Concept Art Lot. The art itself was not that interesting, but the items represent the development of the next version of Star Trek. It went for $967.
