Week 22
It's a Wrap set had more items than ever up this week (145) but sales were half of what they were last week. That is not a surprise as last week saw the best selection to date and 5 high-dollar costumes that the buyer reneged on got re-listed, making a great week even better.
Total sales for week 22 were $ 59,633.86, less than half of last week. None the less, there were some good items, filled in with some great bargains. The Klingon Warrior Costume went for $ 3,150, which was the highest yet for a Klingon costume. The flood of new bidders probably has everything to do with that.
The Major Kira Dress uniform is one of the nicest Bajoran costumes we have seen, and was sold complete with boots and rank and comm badges. It went for a reasonable $ 2,677.
I won the Nog costume for a reasonable $ 1,527. I am a big Nog fan and I also won the Nog Head Mold. The fact that this costume, was the third highest priced costume tells you that it was not a strong week.
The first Guinan costume IAW has listed went for $ 1,403, which is pretty reasonable and in line with secondary character costumes.
The Miles O'Biren Distressed uniform went for $ 1,383 and I liked this because of the very cool distressing. My good friend Martin
from Germany won this, and I am glad it has a good home. It went for less than the $ 1,500 I predicted, and so this is a really good deal. And there were a lot of good deals in this price range this week.
The Harry Kim Dress uniform went for only $ 1,381 and the Voyager style Reg Barclay costume went for $ 1,330. All of these costumes were great deals and the new owners will fin d they made good investments as well.
The Picard civilian costume from Family went for $ 1,135 and I think that is a steal. What an important costume from a great episode. I predicted it would go over $ 1,500 and other Picard civilian costumes have gone for much more.
The Noss costume from the Voyager episode "Gravity" went for a paltry $ 815, which is insanely cheap for a beautiful costume in a very good episode. I think the fact that Lori Petty is a bit of a genre favorite, should have added to the price this fetched.
As far as props go:
This was a really bad week for props. So not a lot to review here:
The Voyager Starfleet Compression Phaser Rifle was the top prop at $ 2,957. Despite the fact that I am not a big fan of this Phasrer Rifle, I won it to go with my other Phaser Rifles. I am trying to get one of each style.
The Voyager Briefing Room Chair at $ 1,922.99 seems over priced. I mean it is only a chair! But then again, it is very
recognizable from the Voyager Briefing Room. Someone will have fun with this in their office.
The Grand Nagus Staff was broken in two, and the bottom piece was missing. So it sold for $ 1,645.99. I think a complete one goes over $ 3,000.
The Horga'hn Statuette went for $ 1.005.99. I like that IAW actually said it was the best one of the kind left. That is good, useful information. The Prop Borg arm went for a reasonable $ 960. A very cool piece that will look great on display. I like this one a lot as it has such wide appeal.
The Jem'Hadar Kar'Takin was also a nice piece that I bid on, as it was resin. It went for a strong $ 952, but I think it will look good next to a Jem'Hadar uniform!
The DS9 Starfleet PADD went for a very reasonable $ 910. Less than other light up Starfleet PADDS. Are we seeing PADD fatigue?
The rubber Mek'Leth was a deal at $ 576. I think IAW was asking $ 600 for this at Burbank, so I think this was spot on.
Finally, the Alternate Universe Comm Badge went for $ 405. It will be interesting to see how many more of this type there are, as this was teh first we saw. It is a nice piece and I lobe how the rank was incorporated with the comm badge.
THIS WEEK'S AWARDS:
Best Costume of the Week: Clearly the Major Kira Dress uniform was the class of the lot. A beautiful, rare costume that was complete.
Best Prop of the Week: Once again a Phaser Rifle wins best prop as the Voyager Starfleet Compression Phaser Rifle was best in a poor week for props.
Best Buy of the week: Both the Harry Kim Dress uniform at $ 1,381 and the Voyager style Reg Barclay costume at $ 1,330 were great deals on main character costumes.
Worst Buy of the week: Actually, there weren't any bad buys this week! Good job to all for your restraint!
Sleeper of the Week: The Noss costume from the Voyager episode "Gravity" was a great deal at $ 815 and is a beauty.5 HIGHEST PRICED ITEMS THAT SOLD
Klingon Warrior Costume $ 3,150
Voyager Starfleet Compression Phaser Rifle $ 2,957
Major Kira Dress uniform $ 2,677
Voyager Briefing Room Chair $ 1,922
Grand Nagus Staff $ 1,645.99.

Anthony Sforza is a huge Star Trek collector from Long Island. Because of his great collection, I asked him to take part an interview. Check out his collection in the photos below!
"In the first photo of me in the Captain's chair you see a refit Enterprise and Reliant that are 1/260 scale replicas. They were bought as kits. I then found a company that does custom builds and they were painted, lit and have custom interiors. There are shuttles and people in the bays and lounges. They also did the large scale Enterprise E for me."
"The ship to my right looking at the pic is the Praylor and Kravik ship from a Voyager. This ship and the above Kazon Torpedo and Klingon cargo ship all came from the Christies auction."
"I bought the jacket the year that they opened the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. At conventions most people have head shots signed. I was never into this, so I looked for something different to do and the jacket was perfect. So for the last 10 plus years I have taken it to as many shows as I can. It has now taken on a life of its own. People at the shows will ask to take pics of it or we get to have long talks about where its been etc. The best part is now when I put it down in front of an actor who usually is sighning at warp speed they tend to stop and look then ask me questions . On the jacket is every primary character from all 5 series except for D Kelly. I have Ricardo Montalban and Joan Collins. I have a book with all the names that we keep."
"All the props on the wall are replicas I have collected for 12 years I get them at shows or online I like replicas because usually they are cheaper to buy and more real looking then screen used plus until recently screen used was super hard to come by."

"All the props in the cases were from the Star Trek Experience. The Rules of Acquisition I had signed by Armin, Max and Jeff. The Horgon, TOS rifle, The Stone of Gault, The TOS PADD, Klingon Rifle, laser drill, mining mask, medical case and Eminar Phaser are all from the Experience."
1. How did you become a Star Trek fan?
I was born in 1966 and when the Original series went into syndication I was hooked immediately.
2. What was the first Star Trek prop you got and when was that? (also, was it real or a replica?)
The first prop I ever got was an Original series Phaser and Communicator. It was a very high quality replica and was purchase around 1989.
3. Did you buy anything from the Christie's auction? Did you go to the auction of bid online?
Yes I was at the Christies Auction and was able to purchase three screen used filming miniatures. The Kazon Torpedo, the Praylor/Kravic Space Station from Voyager, and the Klingon Transport from Deep Space Nine.
4. What have you gotten from the It's a Wrap auctions on eBay?
I have purchased one Jem Hadar costume, one Ferengi costume and one Engineering Console from Enterprise.
5. What else do you have in your collection?
I have several studio scale filming miniatures, art work, a lot of prop replicas, and tons of autographed memorabilia, and a replica Captains Chair.
6. Do you collect replica props at all?
Well, look at the photos! The entire wall of weapons are replicas!
7. Who is your favorite character and why?
Sisko. I thought he made an excellent Captain and he is an excellent actor.
8. Which is your favorite Star Trek show?
Deep Space Nine
9. What is your Holy Grail item?
Voyager or Deep Space Nine Space Station filming models.
10. What is your favorite Star Trek memory?
Being able to go to the set of Enterprise and tour the entire ship and make up department, and watch four hours of filming.
If you have a great collection, please let me know, as I am always looking for great collections and collectors!

Jörg Hillebrand of Memory Alpha is an expert on finding exactly where props and costumes were seen in Star Trek. He has put together a list of corrections and addendum to this week's IAW offerings.
STAR TREK: TNG UNIFICATION, PART II – ROMULAN CIVILIAN
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-UNIFICAT...1QQcmdZViewItem
and
STAR TREK: TNG UNIFICATION, PART II – ROMULAN CIVILIAN
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-UNIFICAT...1QQcmdZViewItem
The images were mixed up. While the first link shows a male costume, the description refers to it as having been worn by Christie Haydon, clearly female. ;-) Here's her page on Memory Alpha: Christie Haydon
The second costume is listed as "male" though it is the costume worn by Christie Haydon in Unification I.
STAR TREK: TNG “ENTERPRISE-D BARBER SHOP ATTENDANT"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-ENTERPRI...1QQcmdZViewItem
only worn by "customers" of the barbershop, such as Beverly Crusher in "The host", for example here
STAR TREK: "ALIEN BACKLIT DISPLAY"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-ALIEN-BACKLI...1QQcmdZViewItem
This is a Dominion interface, first seen in the relay station on Callinon in the episode "The Search I". Here's a screencap:
STAR TREK: TNG “ALIEN CAPTAIN JACKET"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-ALIEN-CA...1QQcmdZViewItem
The "alien Captain" is actually the Captain of a Corvallen freighter seen in "Face of the enemy": entry at Memory Alpha
STAR TREK: DS9 “PROMENADE ALIEN” COSTUME
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-DS9-PROMENAD...1QQcmdZViewItem
The costume worn by the Rasiinian ambassador in "The muse". The complete story behind that character and the creation of the costume can be found here
STAR TREK: DS9 “TALL PROMENADE ALIEN” COSTUME
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-DS9-TALL-PRO...1QQcmdZViewItem
Those aliens can be seen in several early DS9 episodes, more info here at MA
STAR TREK: TNG “THE HUNTED – ANGOSIAN POLICE”
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-THE-HUNT...1QQcmdZViewItem
This uniform was worn by the co-pilot of the Angosian transport (the Captain being Wagnor). The tearing in the costume is due to the removal of the Angosian badge, worn by all Angosians (except for the escaped prisoners) in this episode. The co-pilot can be seen here.
STAR TREK: DS9 “GRAND NAGUS STAFF”
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-DS9-GRAND-NA...1QQcmdZViewItem
This is actually the staff used by Neelix, disguised as the Ferengi Grand Proxy, in the VOY episode "False profits". When the two stranded Ferengi, Kol and Arridor, decide not to obey the "Grand Proxy" 's demands and want to kill him using swords, Neelix uses the staff for protection. While doing so, it is hit by one of the swords, breaking in half at the exact spot where this staff is broken, explaining why the lower half is missing. So, this is likely a replica of the staff used in all of DS9, as the complete scepter was seen in later DS9 episodes, aired after "False profits". Here's a screenshot of the scene:
STAR TREK: DS9 “ODO – FOUNDERS VIRUS” COSTUME
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-DS9-ODO-FOUN...1QQcmdZViewItem
Another error: This is NOT a costume worn by Rene Auberjonois in the final DS9 episodes, when Odo was affected by the Founder virus, but it is the costume he wore in the Season 3 episode "The die is cast", when he was tortured by Garak and was not able to change shape. Compare the various screenshots here with the uniform up for auction - they are completely identical. When Odo was affected by the Founder virus, in "Tacking into the wind" and "Extreme measures", for example, he wore a civilian outfit, because he was on an undercover mission together with Major Kira. The melted costume he wore in those episode can be seen here for example - looks completely different.
STAR TREK: DS9 “MILES O’BRIEN – STARFLEET UNIFORM”
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-DS9-MILES-O-...1QQcmdZViewItem
Although not actually shown on screen, this may be from "Extreme Measures", when Sloan's brain security guard (heh) shoots O'Brien. His hand covers a wound spot exactly where the shot is on this costume.
STAR TREK: TNG “CAPTAIN PICARD” CIVILIAN COSTUME
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-CAPTAIN-...1QQcmdZViewItem
After looking at images on TrekCore twice over, I can't seem to locate Patrick Stewart wearing this costume. He wears one white costume (which is different) and a green costume. Rather, he wears this in "Lessons" and "Attached". (Thanks Jorg!)
STAR TREK: TNG “RIKER DISGUISED AS MALCONIAN"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-TNG-RIKER-DI...1QQcmdZViewItem
The species name is actually 'Malcorian'.
STAR TREK: VOYAGER "FURY - MOLD OF 'AGED KES'"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-VOYAGER-FURY...1QQcmdZViewItem
The mold incorrectly states 'Kas' instead of Kes.
STAR TREK: VOYAGER "KES'S QUARTERS - OCOMPAN BUST"
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-TREK-VOYAGER-KESS...1QQcmdZViewItem
The bust was first seen in "Warlord", then "Worst case scenario", followed by "The gift" and finally once more in "Fury".
You can learn more and chat with Jorg and other Star Trek prop and costume collectors at the Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum.
Cheers!

Week 22 Preview
Well, this week is why I think all those re-lists should have been saved to this week. The costume selection is really weak and the prop selection fair. I think we all need time to recover from the record week we just finished.
The Klingon Warrior Costume is the top costume so far and the only real standout this week. These have gone in the $ 1,800 range previously, but with it already being so high, this will probably go in the $ 2,500 range. Again, no boots.
The first Guinan costume was listed this week, and so it will be interesting to see where this one goes. It is only at $ 600, so I expect this to finish under $ 2,000.
The Major Kira Dress uniform is really beautiful and comes with boots. What great fabric and it also has the rank and comm badges. This could easily top $ 3,000 as Kira uniforms have b een commanding $ 3,500 prices.
The Miles O'Biren Distressed uniform is VERY cool in that the distressing is quite impressive. This is the First Contact style and the gold operations colors always look great with this type. This one will display really well and could be the centerpiece of a collection. O'Brien fans should look hard at this one (and their bank accounts) and be willing to fork over $ 1,500 minimum for this.
The Harry Kim Dress uniform is nice in that you don't see many of these. This should go in the $ 1,500-2,000 range. I own the Task Yar dress uniform, which is similar and I can tell you these are beauties. Throw a Comm Badge (from Federation Surplus of course) and this will display great!
The last Nog costume went for $ 1,691, and this one will go for about the same I would expect. It is the nice First Contact style Nog got when he became an ensign. I told you there were more. :-)
There is a nice Voyager style Reg Barclay costume that I think could be a sleeper. Reg was a great character in Voyager and I am sure there are fans of this character out there. This if teh first Barcaly we have seen. This is probably also the rarer style as he was mostly in the later episodes, when Starfleet had changed to the First Contact style uniform (though Voyager's crew still used the earlier ones).
The Noss costume from the Voyager episode "Gravity" is pretty cool and worn by Lori Petty in that episode. I think this is a great guest costume and should go at a reasonable price. It is complete with gloves and boots.
The Picard civilian costume from Family is a very cool Picard costume. It is only at $ 290 now, but this will go around $ 1,500 for sure. This is an important TNG episode and this costume is one of the better Picard civilian costumes.
The Twin Borg Boy costume is one used by the double for the twins from the Voyager episode "Collective". It is cool in that it is a partial body suit. The Azan one of these went previously for $ 1,358.
Finally, the Irina costume from the Voyager episode "Drive" is really beautiful. Great fabrics and colors make for a costume that will look great on display.
As far as props go:
The Voyager Starfleet Compression Phaser Rifle is the top prop, already at $ 1,275. It will certainly top $ 3,000 as it is a hero resin version. Now I think many of us agree that this is the ugliest Phaser rifle ever. But still, it is a Phaser Rifle, which have all gone over $ 2,300 so far.
The Grand Nagus Staff is pretty cool, though broken and missing the lower half. None the less, a great prop for all you Ferengi collectors! I have no idea where this will go, but I know a few people want it.
The DS9 Starfleet PADD is a nice version and lights up. These have been going about $1,300-1,800. This one is already at $ 665.
The Voyager Briefing Room Chair is nice and I wish I lived in LA so I could buy this and pick it up, but the thought of paying for shipping is daunting. Still, who wouldn't like to have a chair from Voyager in their office?
The Prop Borg arm is AMAZING and will certainly hit $ 1,500. Look at the detailing....very cool. I don't even collect Borg stuff, but this is still a piece that has huge appeal.
The Horga'hn Statuette is another piece everyones seems to know about and should do well. It is some kind of polystyrene, but the description actually denotes that this is the best one remaining, and I applaud IAW for including good info like that!
I like the rubber Mek'Leth, and I saw one of these at Burbank at the Star Trek convention and I liked it a ton. At $ 293, this will go in the $ 600-800 range and will look great on display.
The Yesterday's Enterprise Crewman Belt is very cool, but does anyone else find this photo confusing? It would go great with a costume from that episode, of which we have only seen the Tasha Yar at Christie's.
Finally, the Alternate Universe Comm Badge is really interesting. We haven't seen one of these before, and it will be interesting to see where this one goes. I like the way they incorporated the rank with the comm badge.
And make sure you check out the new Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forums!
Good hunting!
Alec
Week 21
It's a Wrap set a sales record by a wide margin with a weekly gross of $124,287.25. It was a great week for costumes, and there were some high prices on mediocre star costumes.
The Star Trek: TMP Spock Class D uniform at $6,100.03 was the top costume of the week. There was no uniform insignia and no shoulder strips. This may have been because this jumpsuit was used at the end of the movie under their field jackets. You never see anything but the collar and legs of this uniform. So, for this to go so high I think is a bit much.
The Casual Kirk from the beginning of Star Trek II:TWOK was second highest. This went for $ 5,700 the last time it was on (It was relisted because of a fraudulent buyer). It went even higher this time at $ 6,100.
The Star Trek: TMP Dr. McCoy Class C Jacket Wrap went for a ridiculous $5,166.66 since it was never worn in the movie! Like many other Star Trek: TMP costumes, it was made and never used. And for that price you expect a screen-used costume. The Admiral Kirk Class B is a great costume. I think it is the best costume Kirk wears in The Motion Picture. It doesn't have a chest insignia, but it does have a bio-monitor buckle and shoulder insignia. It sold for $ 4,905.
The Star Trek VII: Generations Captain Picard Uniform at $4,050.03 was pretty much in line with other Captain's costumes which have
sold in the $ 3-4,000 range. I won this and now have 4 of the 5 captain;s costumes, so I was pretty happy. This is the costume Picard wore while he battled Soran on Veridian III with Kirk at the end of Generations, so I think it is an important Picard costume.
The Worf costume went for a very healthy $ 4,000. Partly this is due to the presence of a comm badge and rank pips. Still, that is as much as this week's Picard!
The Star Trek V Kirk Climbing costume sold at Christie's for $ 3,000, but sold here for $ 3,650. It's a cool costume that is pretty important in Star Trek V.
The Klingon Costume that Neelix wore in the Star Trek: Voyager Episode "The Killing Game" is another re-list that went for $ 3,650. The strongest Klingon costume so far, it came in a week when we also saw the Gorkon from Star Trek VI sell for $ 3,250, so it was a big week for Klingons!
The Spock Sickbay Costume at $ 2,9820 was a shocker. Yes, it is a key scene in ST: TMP, but still, it isn't a Starfleet uniform, so I think it is a bit much.
The Riker went for a very strong $2,820. This is the black and gray version from Star Trek Nemesis. I good buy I think as there wasn't one of these at Christie's.
At $ 2,816, the Scotty Class D was a bit high for a costume with no insignia or shoulder strips. The Willard Decker though went for $ 2,750, which wasn't bad. It just was missing the wrist rank stripes.
The Commando Spock went for $ 2,550 which was a steal! This is an important costume and used through most of Star Trek V. I can't believe it went so low.
The Uhura distressed Class B from ST: TMP was WAY overpriced at $ 2,469. It looks pretty bad and is incomplete. I am really surprised where this went. The TMP Off Duty Tunic is like the one Ilia wore, but not hers. It went
for $ 2,227, which I think is strong for a non-character costume. The last time one of these was on it went fro $ 3,000.
The Tuvok Maroon Officer costume went for a modest $ 2,215. I think this was a great deal, even though the jacket isn't Tim Russ's. These are iconic costumes and the last two have gone in the $ 2,800 range.
Here are some other costume prices realized:
Star Trek: Insurrection Data's underwater costume $ 1,927
Reasonable Price for a nice costume with good screen time.
Star Trek: First Contact Borg costume $ 1,925
Borg costume prices dropped a bit. last one went for $ 2,200.
Star Trek V Captain Kirk Commando Stunt costume $ 1,923
A great deal on a Kirk! (Even though it is not a Shatner)
Star Trek: TNG Starfleet Admiral costume $ 1,801
Strong price for a costume that has gone under $ 1,000 previously.
Star Trek III Star Trek III Security armor $ 1,591
Almost same price as last time. Great costume!
Star Trek: Generations Geordi LaForge costume $ 1,582
Very reasonable price
Star Trek: TMP white radiological suit $ 1,575
About right for a nice costume
Star Trek: TMP Dr. Chapel Sickbay Uniform $ 1,454
Not correct, but fair price.
Star Trek: TMP Ilia Starfleet uniform $ 1,315
Same type as the McCoy that went for $ 5,166Star Trek: TMP David Marcus top $ 1,254
Iconic costume. Good price!
Star Trek: Nemesis Starfleet Jumpsuit $ 1,225
People LOVE these operations gold ones!
Star Trek: Insurrection Anij Costume $ 1,030
Good price on main character costume
Star Trek: TMP Chekov Class B Uniform Shirt $ 1,010
The shirt Chekov wore when he got burned.
As far as Props go:
The Type III Mk 2 Phaser rifle went for a reasonable $ 2,600. First one of these we have seen.
The Nemesis style Phaser Rifle went for $ 2,325, which is inline with previous sales.
The Kolaran cannon was a surprise at $ 1,225. I am kind of surprised this went so high, but everyone has different tastes! The Klingon Bat'leth went for a reasonable $ 910; close to what previous ones have gone for.
I think I got a great deal as I won the Reman Rifle at $ 888. These are pretty nice as I saw one in person at the Burbank Star Trek convention last month. There IAW wanted $ 1,500, so I am pleased.
The fifth Klingon mask we have seen so far went for $ 812. So the prices are coming down on these .
Amazingly, the small black and amber Vulcan Jewelry went for $ 800! Way high for a simple piece that has no recognizable value.
The Borg Skull went for $ 710. Ths was not the one from the end of Star Trek: First contact, as this simply does not match up, but may have been made for that scene as it is similar, just teh wrong materials.
Finally, the Kolaran bust went for $ 510, which I think was a good deal. It is quite beautiful, and already mounted. Still, I suggest contacting Tom Spina and getting this preserved.

THIS WEEK'S AWARDS:
Best Costume of the Week: The Star Trek: TMP Admiral Kirk Class B Uniform is my favorite Kirk from TMP and I think this was the class of the week.
Best Prop of the Week: The Type 3, Mark 2 Phaser Rifle is a beauty, and I just lost out on this. (My buddy has one he is willing to trade, so I didn't want to go too high). Not as cool as the Mark 3, but still very cool!
Best Buy of the week: The Spock Commando Costume at $ 2,550 is a STEAL! An important Spock at this price is amazing.
Worst Buy of the week: The Star Trek: TMP Dr. McCoy Class C Jacket Wrap Way high for a costume never used on-screen.
Sleeper of the Week: The Regula Scientist "Jedda" costume is a beauty and very recognizable. A steal at $ 687.5 HIGHEST PRICED ITEMS THAT SOLD
Star Trek: TMP Spock Class D uniform $6,100.03
Star Trek II Admiral Kirk Casual Wear $6,100
Star Trek: TMP Dr. McCoy Class C Jacket Wrap $5,166.66
Star Trek: TMP Admiral Kirk Class B Uniform $4,905
Star Trek VII: Generations Captain Picard Uniform $4,050.03
Hope you all got what you wanted! Thanks to Aaron Carlson for getting his act together again on the stats! :-)
